Carnivore Diet: Part 1

This is the first of a 3-part series on the carnivore diet.

Why do people experience benefits from going carnivore?

1.) It’s a high-protein elimination diet.

2.) Many people will see benefits in their body composition due to drastically increasing protein and reducing calorie intake. That’s expected, but it’s not unique to eating carnivore, as anyone could obtain this benefit by adopting a protein-sparing modified fast that includes plant foods.

3.) The elimination of all plants will obviously show symptomatic relief for those with GI problems like IBS and IBD. Everyone has different “triggers” and it takes time to identify what foods are tolerable. By eliminating all potential triggers, you’ll certainly have less bloating, gas, etc. We’ll talk about the long-term consequences of doing this in the next video (hint: It’s burning the house down to get a stain out of the carpet).

4.) Something we didn’t touch on in the video but want to mention is the high energy levels, which come from running on stress hormones (catecholamines). You’ll have a lot of energy because your cortisol, adrenaline, and noradrenaline will all be working overtime. That’s not something you want to ride out for long periods of time.
